EMCY General Assembly 2010 and 40th Birthday Celebration

11.03.2010

From 16th – 19th April 2010 delegates of EMCY Member Competitions and invited guests, including many people who have been involved with EMCY over EMCY’s 40 year history, will gather in Heerlen, Netherland to celebrate the past and make important decisions for the future of EMCY.

EMCY’s General Assembly and birthday celebration will be held as part of an extensive programme marking the 25th edition of the Charles Hennen Concours, International Chamber Music Competition for Strings. Moreover the Heerlen Music School is also celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2010 and is now part of the stunning 75 year old Schunck Glaspaleis complex, our generous hosts for this event.

EMCY’s birthday celebration will be held on Friday 16th April in the Gouvernementsgebouw in Maastricht and will feature performances from prize winners of EMCY Member Competitions. Other programme highlights include special meetings for national and international competitions and workshops on the role and composition of juries and on how to make the most of EMCY’s new website. More information about the General Assembly is available in English and German to members in the Members’ Area section of emcy.org or from the office.

We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting and memorable event!
