Next Station: America! The Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists goes abroad again in 2014

13.01.2012

The Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists will be held from 6th – 15th April 2012 in Beijing (China). Although this year's edition hasn't even taken place yet, the competition's organisers are already looking forward to the next edition in 2014 held from 21st February – 2nd March in Austin, Texas (USA)! It will be hosted by the Butler School of Music (BSOM) at The University of Texas at Austin.

It will be the first time for the competition taking place in the United States. After being hosted by the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Cardiff and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo amongst others, the artistic director of the Menuhin Competition Gordon Back is "excited that the Butler School of Music has the vision and creativity to stage this unique music event".
