Rules
The competition is open to pupils of all academies and artistic humanities departments which are recognised by the French, Flemish or Germanic Belgian Community. The maximum age for solo voice is 28; for double bass, bass tuba, contrabass tuba, ensembles, and musical and literary composition 25, and for all other disciplines 22. Candidates can only take part in a discipline of the competition once.

Application
Registration is free of charge. The required documents (see rules) and the application form (link to example from 2010) must be sent to the competition by the deadline.
Prizes
1st Prize: 745 €, a diploma and a recording
2nd Prize: 375 €, a diploma and a recording
Special Prize: 'Academy of the Year' + 2975 €
Background
Dexia Classics, formerly known as 'Pro Civitate, Concours National de Musique du Crédit Communal' was one of the founding member competitions of EMCY in 1970. In 1997 the competition was renamed 'Dexia Classics' after the change of name of the hosting bank. The goals of the competition are on the one hand to give young people a possibility to evaluate if they are able and willing to pursue their artistic education on a higher level and on the other hand to encourage municipalities in their artistic educational system.
More than 2500 young people have received a prize and Dexia Classics helps them as they pursue an artistic career as an soloist or as part of an ensemble. Throughout their career Dexia supports them with concerts, recordings, seminars, master classes etc.
