Rules: The competition is open to young saxophonists from every nation up to the age of 26 years.

Application: Application details available several months before the competition on the competition website.Background: The International Saxophone Competition is part of the annual International Saxophone Meeting organised by the Nova Gorica Arts Centre together with the Nova Gorica music school. Due to the top teachers and superb concerts involved, the summer saxophone events have become a firmly established fixture both in Slovenia and abroad.

Junior group – under 17 years of age
1st prize – the Golden Violin – 7000 PLN
2nd prize – the Silver Violin – 5000 PLN
3rd prize – the Bronze Violin – 4000 PLN
4th prize – the Bronze Violin – 2000 PLN
5th prize – the Bronze Violin – 1000 PLN
Senior group – from 17 to 25 years of age
1st prize – the Golden Violin – 10000 PLN
2nd prize – the Silver Violin – 7000 PLN
3rd prize – the Bronze Violin – 4000 PLN
4th prize – the Bronze Violin – 3000 PLN
5th prize – the Bronze Violin – 2000 PLN
Apart from the prizes stipulated in the regulations, private persons and institutions may award other prizes.
