Prizes:
A Category (from 10 to 13 years):
- 1st Prize -1000 EURO and the laureate title;
- 2nd Prize - 800 EURO and the laureate title;
- 3rd Prize - 500 EURO and the laureate title.
- Three Diplomas of 100 EURO each and the title of the award winner.
B Category (from 14 to 17 years):
- 1st Prize - 2500 EURO and the laureate title;
- 2nd Prize – 1500 EURO and the laureate title;
- 3rd Prize - 1000 EURO and the laureate title;
- Three Diplomas of 300 EURO each and the title of the award winner.
C Category (from 18 to 28 years):
- 1st Prize - 10000 EURO and the laureate title;
- 2nd Prize – 7000 EURO and the laureate title;
- 3rd Prize - 5000 EURO and the laureate title.
- Three Diplomas of 800 EURO each and the title of the award winner.
The organizing committee has the right to set up special prizes and awards:
Prize “Nadezhda” (“Hope”) for the young participant, certificate for providing the payment for attending master classes in Europe and a special prize of the general sponsor.
The prize winners of the competition will be invited to take part in the concerts organized by the “D. Oistrakh Charity Foundation” and the State Moscow P.Tchaikovsky Conservatoire.
We’ve established a new prize for the participants of category “C” - “The best performance of Mozart concerto”. The participant of the IV Moscow International D. Oistrakh violin competition who is to be awarded this prize, will be invited in the season 2011 to play in the Marble Hall (Salzburg, Austria) in which Mozart used to play!
All participants of the competition will receive a Certificate of participation.
State and public institutions, creative unions, mass-media, firms and private persons may be the founders of special prizes and awards, in coordination with the Organizing Committee and the Jury of the competition.
Application: The application form can be downloaded from the competition website.This must be sent by mail with the following documents to the organizing committee:
- Video-recording (DVD)
- program to be performed with indication the duration of each piece
- brief resume indicating educational establishment, teacher and information concerning participation in other music competitions
- copy of the educational document
- photocopies of passport or birth certificate;
- photographs not less than 600 x 800 pixels (in electronic form) or 6 x 12 sm (in printed form
- Copy of the invoice with the payment of the participation fee.
The participation fee is 100 EUR. In event of withdrawal from the competition the documents and the entrance fee will not be returned.
The video recording must feature a set repertoire and must be made in the period between 01.01.2009 and 31.05.2010. It is not necessary for the recorded pieces to be those performed during the competition rounds.
All participants of the competition will receive a Certificate of participation.
After the preliminary audition of the VIDEO (VHS or DVD) by the Jury, the applicants admitted to the competition will receive an official invitation from the organizing committee no later than 15th of July, 2010. These Participants will be provided with free accommodation at the 3*- star hotel for the duration of their participation in the IV International Moscow D. Oistrakh violin competition.
No more than 30 contestants will be admitted to the 1st round in each category.
All participants that were not admitted to the next round will have the possibility to have a personal consultation with the members of the Jury and discuss with them their performance.
Background: The main goal of the competition is popularization and development of the best traditions of Russian violin performing art, discovering young talented musicians and supporting them in their professional potential.
The competition is organized by the David Oistrakh Charity Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to support and carry on the great traditions of Russian culture trusteeship and patronage of arts. Projects of the foundation include the international violin competition, awarding grants to talented young artists, organizing concerts, tours, master classes and cooperation with other organizations with similar aims in Russia and abroad.

5th prize – the Bronze Violin – 2000 PLN
Apart from the prizes stipulated in the regulations, private persons and institutions may award other prizes.
