Rules: The competition is for young musicians between the age of 9 and 22 of all nationalities who are permanently resident in Switzerland or Liechtenstein and for citizens of Switzerland or Liechtenstein who live abroad.
The bands have to consist of 2-10 musicians. There is no compulsory repertoire but required pieces are own compositions and/or arrangements for or from the bands. All instruments and voice are permitted.

Prizes: The performance at the Award-Session on 2nd September 2012 is already regarded as a prize only for bands with a 1st Prize. Special Prizes will be awarded directly at the Award-Session.
Application: As requirement for the application the band needs a Band-Account on www.mx3.ch, to upload a band profile and one demo recording (audio or video recording). The application for the competition happens through the Book my Band- Button on the Mx3-page of the Schweizerischer Jugendmusikwettbewerb (SJMW): http://www.mx3.ch/stage/sjmw_jrpBased on the demo recording the jury decides until the middle of July 2012 which bands will take part in the Live-Selection in the Jazzclub Moods in Zürich (Switzerland) from 30th August to 1st September 2012.

Background: The competition Jazz, Rock, Pop serves as expansion of the classic competition of the Schweizerischer Jugendmusikwettbewerb (SJMW) also carried out on national level.

Senior group – from 17 to 25 years of age
1st prize – the Golden Violin – 10000 PLN
2nd prize – the Silver Violin – 7000 PLN
3rd prize – the Bronze Violin – 4000 PLN
4th prize – the Bronze Violin – 3000 PLN
5th prize – the Bronze Violin – 2000 PLN
Apart from the prizes stipulated in the regulations, private persons and institutions may award other prizes.
