International Festival "European Concerts in St. Petersburg"
25.11.09From EMCY’s Member Competitions in St. Petersburg: the Mravinsky International Competition for Youth and the International Competition for Young Pianists 'A Step Towards Mastery'
The Festival "European Concerts in Saint-Petersburg" develops one of the most priority trends of activity of the European Union of Musical Competitions for Youth (EMCY) – promoting of talented creative youth and strengthening of international relations between representatives of various musical cultures and performance schools. The concerts are performed every year in one of the European countries. The organizers of the concerts of the year 2009 in St. Petersburg are Committee for Culture – the organizer of International Youth Competition named after E.A. Mravinsky, St. Petersburg School of Arts for Children named after E.A. Mravinsky and St. Petersburg School of Arts for children # 4 - the organizer of the International Competition of pianists “Step to mastery”.
The young musicians – the winners of national and international competitions from Russia, Belarus, Germany, Norway and Poland are invited for a participation in the project consisting of three concerts. The performers will have an opportunity to appear in the concert at one of the best halls of Europe – the Big Hall of St. Petersburg State Philharmonic Hall named after D.D. Shostakovich accompanied by the Academic symphonic orchestra. The Concerts will be also played at the Concert Hall of St. Petersburg School of Arts for Children named after E.A. Mravinskiy and in the Concert Hall of St. Petersburg School of Arts for Children # 4.
December 11, 2009 at http://www.mravinsky.ru/104news/video.html will be held online broadcast of the concert. Test broadcasting has already begun.
Festival “European concerts in St. Petersburg” will become noticeable part of the rich musical life of the city, and bright and unforgettable page of biography of young and talented musicians, and, of course, the most important means of international cultural cooperation.
