European exchange between Slovakia and Macedonia

In spring 2011 four European Concerts were organised in cooperation of EMCY Slovakia and the United Music and Dance Teachers of Macedonia (Competition of the United Music and Dance Teachers of Macedonia).Two European Concerts were held in Macedonia - in Skopje on 7th April and in Kumanovo on 8th April 2011. EMCY Slovakia was represented by Lenka Molčányiová (recorder) and Ms Zita Slavíčková (piano).

They performed the following programme in Skopje as well as in Kumanovo:

1. A. Vivaldi: Concerto in C major for sopranino recorder, RV 443
2. J. S. Bach: Minuet & Badinerie
3. G. Rossini: Variations
4. E. Morricone: Gabriel's Oboe
5. N. Rimski-Korsakov: Flight of the bumble bee
6. V. Monti: Czardas

In addition they played 'Hora staccato', a typical Balkan composition by C. Dimiccu.


The other two concerts took place in Slovakia - in Bratislava on 17th June and in Dolná Krupá on 18th June 2011. Macedonia was represented by the young violinist Eva Bogoevska and her mother Mrs Maria Bogoevska (piano).

They performed the following programme:

1. A. Vivaldi: Concerto for violin and orchestra (Movement 2 & 3)
2. P. Sarasate: Introduction and Tarantella

Lenka and Eva enjoyed their successful performances as well as the interesting programme for their leisure time during their stay prepared by the organisers in Macedonia and in Slovakia.
