Promoted by EMCY: "Music is the supreme revelation!"

Alva Holm started playing the violin at the age of 4. At 9 she was accepted into the class of Alexandre Zapolski at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she is now enrolled in a special state sponsored music education program for talented students still attending school, but with the ambition of pursuing a professional career.

Alva has won first prizes in the Jacob Gade Violin Competition, Berlingske Classical Competition (Gold medal) and in 2015 the prestigious Talent Prize in the Øresund Competition for Danish and Swedish strings and winds below the age of 21. She has performed numerous concerts as a soloist all over Denmark and in Belgium (The Musica Mundi Festival and Chamber Music Course), Poland (Pro Baltica Festival) and Russia (the Spivakov Festival in Moscow) and has several years of orchestra experience from the award winning Zapolski Strings and the Royal Academy’s Junior Orchestra as a first violin, together with broad experience as a chamber musician.

Having received two major scholarships in 2015 Alva has decided to apply for the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2016, and most likely to study abroad at a later time.
