Dominic was born in Cologne (Germany). At the age of five he started to take violin lessons with his father, at seven he began to play the piano by himself, improvising and composing as well. At twelve he was accepted into the 'Pre-College Cologne' at the 'Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln', where he received piano lessons with Prof. Sheila Arnold. Now he is a junior student of Prof. S. Arnold, also taking chamber music lessons with Prof. Anthony Spiri, and is attending master classes principally with Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmeling. Dominic is a scholarship holder of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation.
Dominic has been awarded many prizes including the 1st Prize at 'Kleiner Schumann-Wettbewerb 2010' (Zwickau), the 1st Prize, the Audience Prize and the Prize of the 'Deutsche Chopin Gesellschaft e.V.' at the '57. Steinway Klavierspielwettbewerb' (Berlin), and the 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the 'International Piano Competition for Young Musicians 2010' (Enschede, NL). In 2011 he received the 3rd Prize and special prize for the interpretation of a 20th century work at the International FRANZ LISZT Competition for Young Pianists (Weimar) and 1st Prize, the Diethard-Wucher Prize and the Special Prize of the 'Stiftung Deutsches Musikleben' at the national Jugend musiziert competition.
