Hrvoje was born in Osijek (Croatia) and currently studies with Berković-Magdalenić at Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb (Croatia).

He has been playing cello for seven years and already won a large number of prizes at international competitions: 1st Prizes and special awards at the International Competition for Young Cellists 'Antonio Janigro' in Poreč (Croatia) in 2004, 2006 and 2008, at the International Competition for string players 'Rudolf Matz' in Samobor (Croatia) in 2005, 2006 and in Dubrovnik (Croatia) in 2008. He also won several prizes at the International Competition 'Alfredo e Vanda Marcosig' in Gorizia (Italy) and Liezen (Austria). As a member of chamber ensembles, he won 1st Prizes at the Croatian Chamber Music Competitions in the category of cello quartet in 2006 and duo violin and cello in 2008. He also won the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation Prize at the International festival of young musicians 2009 in Kaunas (Lithuania).

Hrvoje regularly attends master classes with renowned musicians, such as Giovanni Sollima, David Grigorian, Silvija Sondeckiene, Nikola Ružević and Gustavo Tavares. He had recitals in Zagreb and Osijek and played with orchestras. In 2009 he performed a concert with Croatian Jeunesses Musicales in Osijek (Croatia).

As successful young musician in Croatia, he has been invited to participate in numerous festivals and has recorded for national and local television and radio and performed in various radio programmes.
