Jonas is 17 years old and he comes from Roskilde, Denmark. Jonas studies at the music college Sankt Annæ Gymnasium from which he will graduate in 2016. He began playing the clarinet in 2007. His clarinet teacher is John Kruse, principal clarinet of The Royal Danish Orchestra and clarinet teacher at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Besides his solo lessons Jonas plays in a large number of ensembles through The Royal Danish Academy of Music and Sankt Annæ Gymnasium, among others a trio with cello and piano, a quintet with strings and a wind quintet.

Jonas has won several prizes: A bursary from the musical society of Roskilde in 2009, first prize in the competition ‘Unge spiller klassisk’ (meaning ‘Young people play classical music’) 2010, gold award in the music competition of the newspaper ‘Berlingske’ in 2011, first prize and talent prize in the competition ‘Øresunds Solist’ in 2012, the talent prize of Copenhagen Summer Festival 2013 and first prize in ‘Øresunds Solist’ 2014.

Jonas has performed at the festivals Schubertiaden 2011 and 2013, Båstad Chamber Music Festival 2012 and Copenhagen Summer Festival 2012 and 2013. He has been a stand-in for the famous clarinetist Martin Fröst in connection with a concert where Fröst should play the Carl Nielsen clarinet concerto with Baltic Youth Philharmonic. Jonas has, despite his young age, already participated in the Carl Nielsen International Clarinet Competition (2013) and taken part in an audition for the principal clarinet of Copenhagen Phil.

Jonas has also had classes with the clarinetists Yehuda Gilad and Andreas Sundén and the woodwind professor Max Artved.
