Laia was born in Barcelona and began flute studies at the age of six. In 2003 she received the Honorable Mention from Barcelona's Professional Conservatory where she studied with Joan Vayreda under the tutelage of Dolors Serra. In 2003 she also started her studies at the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC) with Vicenç Prats. Since 2005 she has been completing her studies in Cologne (Germany) with Robert Winn, Thaddeus Watson and Dirk Peppel. Concurrently she works with Carlos Bruneel at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She has been awarded scholarships by the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Catalan Government and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Germany since 2006.

Laia is a member of various European youth orchestras and has collaborated with the Südwestfalen Philarmonic Orchestra and the Brussels Théâtre de la Monnaie Orchestra. She has also performed as a soloist in France, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Germany, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela and in various Catalan townships. She has been awarded at several solo and chamber music competitions: Genís Sala Competition of Santa Perpetua de la Mogoda (Barcelona 1997), Arjau International Competition (Barcelona 1999), Instrumental Sant Anastasi Competition (Lleida 2003), Primer Palau Competition (Barcelona 2009), Frederich Kuhlau International Flute Competition (Uelzen 2009) and Young Interpreters of Musical Youths Competition (Barcelona 2009).

In 2004 she was invited to play and record, alongside pianist Paul Perera, for Catalunya Ràdio, Catalunya Música and Com Ràdio. Most recently her career was highlighted by her debut performance as a soloist with the National Classical Orchestra of Andorra at the Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona). In few months time she will be performing with Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra conducted by Franz–Paul Decker.
