Mariam has already enjoyed considerable success in her native Georgia, where she studied at the E. Mikeladze central music school no.2 under Nata Natsvlishvili. In 2001 at the III Tbilisi City Competition she was awarded I Degree Diploma and the title of Laureate. In 2003 she was awarded the 2nd prize, silver medal and the title of Laureate at the Tbilisi International Competition of Young Pianists. The Ministry of Culture of Georgia awarded her the prize 'Best Performer of Classical Style Work'. In 2004 she was awarded Grand Prix at the First Republican Week of Children and Youngsters Arts 'Red Rose' organised by the State Philharmonic Society of Georgia. In the same year she participated in the 'Young Talents' Concert in Hohenems, Austria.

In 2006 she was invited to Moscow at the IV International Festival 'Moscow Meets Friends' organised by the V. Spivakov Charity Foundation and participated in the Hearing of Students of Georgian Musical Schools dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth. There she was awarded Diploma and the title of Laureate. In 2007 she was awarded a diploma for being the prize winner of the 'New Names' Competition by the Moscow Charity Fund and with a diploma and bonus for the best performance of a Chopin's work by the Independent Trade Union of the Workers of Culture, Sport and Tourism. In the same year the Georgian-Chinese Cultural Centre 'Silk Road' awarded her with a diploma for her contribution to the development of cultural relations between Georgia and China. In 2008 Mariam participated in the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists and was granted  the Encouragement (Förderpreis) Award.

In 2009 she became the Grand Prix winner of 'Die Goldene Taste' International Piano Competition in Frankfurt, she won the Tamar Apakidze scholarship, and she gave solo recitals in Stuttgart and Ingolstadt, Germany. In 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010 she gave solo concerts at the Tbilisi V. Saradjishvili State Conservatoire Small Hall.

In 2010 she was invited to Cape Town, South Africa by the honorary consul of Georgia in Cape Town, Dr. Gerald Wolman in collaboration with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra to give solo recital dedicated to Independence Day of Georgia. In the same year she gave a charity concert for the Rotary Club in the Rubinstein Hall of the Steinway House in Munich.

In 2011 at the 3rd International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar she was awarded first prize, Grand Prix, the special EMCY Prize, and special award for the best interpretation of a work by F. Liszt donated by the Liszt Foundation.

Mariam was chosen by EMCY to perform a lunchtime recital at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in November 2011.
