Marie-Christine, born in Salzburg, started taking violin lessons with Eberhard Staiger at the age of six. Since 2005 she has been studying at the Mozarteum University with Prof. Benjamin Schmid and since 2010 with Prof. Igor Ozim. Since 2006 she is also a student at the 'Leopold Mozart Institut'.
She has won several competitions including 1st Prizes at Austrian national competition 'Prima la Musica' in 2004 and 2006, competition 'Alfredo e Vanda Marcosig' 2007 in Gorizia (Italy), 1st Prize at the Austrian Lions Music Competition, a place in the final round at the European Lions Music Competition and Lions Youth Award, and 2nd Prize at the Austrian national competition 'Gradus ad Parnassum' in 2008. In 2009 she was selected to participate at the 'Starling – DeLay Symposium' at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. In same year she also received an award at the Summer Academy Mozarteum and the Yehudi Menuhin Medal 'String Player of the Year 2009'. In 2010 she received 3rd Prize at the International Soloist Competition in Zurich (Switzerland), 1st Prize at the Austrian round of Eurovision Young Musicians, and 1st Prize, special prize for best interpretation of J.S. Bach’s work, and also the EMCY Prize at the International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists.
Marie-Christine gave her first concert at the age of eleven with Wolfgang Danzmayr performing Mozart's Violin Concerto in G Major. She has performed with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Staatskapelle Weimar, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, Orchester der Salzburger Kulturvereinigung, Symphony Orchestra of the Mozarteum University, Salzburg's Young Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonietta St. Johann, Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra, Benjamin Schmid and the Salzburg-Strings, Halleiner Kammerorchester, and Camerata Academica. She has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA (New York). She has also participated in music projects with David and Wolfgang Danzmayr, TV- and Radio recordings, debuted at the Salzburger Festspielen as a part of the prize winner concert of Summer Academy in 2009, and had solo recital in 2009 with Ö1.
She has absolved master classes with Ana Chumachenko, Benjamin Schmid, Igor Ozim, Ivry Gitlis, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Paul Kantor, Joel Smirnoff, David Kim and Zakhar Bron.
Marie-Christine plays on Jean Baptiste Vuillaume's 'The Dee Shapland' (1849).
Marie-Christine was chosen by EMCY and Romanian Radio to perform a solo concerto in the EuroRadio Youth Concert 2012 in Bucharest.
