Martin started music at the age of 6 and began playing the saxhorn about one year later. His teacher at the time was Thierry Grimont. A few years later Martin moved to the north of France and continued learning saxhorn with Michel Hulot. He was 10 years old when he first started playing in the wind orchestra from his town. A few years later, when he was 15, he started learning the trombone as well.

Martin now studies the saxhorn at the Conservatoire of Arras with Jérémie Dufort and the trombone with Luc Delforge. He is also in his second year of musicology at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He has started to give tuba and trombone lessons in music schools around his hometown, and he is going to try and enter the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris this year.

In 2015, he received the honors of the jury in ‘music theory’, as well as the honors with distinction in ‘instruments’ during the Concours d'excellence - Confédération Musicale de France.
