Moritz Huemer was born in Austria in 1999 and lives in Liechtenstein. He started playing the cello at the age of five with Josef Hofer at the music school in Liechtenstein. Since September 2015 he studies privately with Rafael Rosenfeld in Basel.

Moritz is still a student at the high school “Gymnasium Schillerstraße” in Austria.

Between 2008 and 2016 he won several first prizes in the finals of the youth music competitions "Schweizerischer Jugendmusikwettbewerb" (Switzerland) and "Prima la Musica" (Austria), where he also won the ESTA special prize in 2016.

As a soloist he already appeared with the following orchestras: Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein, Collegium Musicum St. Gallen and the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein/Werdenberg.

Moritz is a founding member of the piano trio “Trio Millennium” since 2013.
