Nikica Polegubić (Zagreb, 1996) started playing guitar at the age of eight. In 2008, he entered the class of Prof. Xhevdet Sahatxhija where he studied for the next six years.

In 2014, he finished Music high school Pavla Markovca and entered 'Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst' in Graz where he now studies with Prof. Paolo Pegoraro. He has received numerous awards and recognitions including the recognition of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia for excellent results at national competitions.

He was two times the top first prize laureate soloist at the national competitions in 2009 and 2011. For chamber ensembles he won the first prize at the national competitions in 2008, 2010  and 2012. He participated in numerous master classes with famous guitarists, including Paolo Pegoraro, Zoran Dukic, Tilman Hoppstock, Xhevdet Sahatxhija, Lukasz Kuropaczewski, Johannes Moller, Martha Masters, Carlo Marchione,Costa Cotsiolis and Pavel Steidl. He has performed at numerous music events as well as on different Croatian television shows. He took part in the concert 'Majstori sviraci', which represents the best young musicians in Croatia.

He was awarded prizes at various international competitions:
1st Prize -  Split Guitar Festival (2009)
1st Prize -  'Enrico Mercatalli'' Guitar Competition (2010)
1st Prize -  Morski festival gitare in Slovenia (2010)
1st Prize - Guitar Art Festival Belgrade (2014)
1st Prize – Porecki Tirando (2014)
2nd Prize - 7th International Competition for Young Guitarists 'Andrés Segovia' in Velbert (2012)
3rd Prize - International competition 'Anna Amalia' in Weimar (2015)
3rd Prize – Guitar Art Festival Belgrade (2016)

Chamber music prizes:
