Roman, born in Kyiv, started studying piano at Kyiv Specialized Secondary Music boarding school named after M. Lysenko in the class of Prof. Iryna Barinova and Prof. Sergey Riabov at the age of five.

He has won several prizes at different competitions: 1st and 2nd Prize in category 'Chamber Ensemble' in 2003 and 2nd Prize in category 'Solo' in 2004 at the International Competition of Young Performers 'XXI Century Art' in Vorzel (Ukraine), diploma at the International Competition for Young Pianists in S. Prokofiev's Native Land 2003 in Donetsk (Ukraine), 2nd Prize of group 'Horowitz-Debut' at the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz 2004 in Kyiv (Ukraine), 1st Prize at the Tbilisi International Young Pianists' Competition 2005 (Georgia), Special Prize in 2001 and Grand Prix in 2006 at the International Children Youth Arts Competition 'Sribny Dzvin' in Uzhgorod (Ukraine), 3rd Prize of Junior group at the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz 2006 in Kyiv (Ukraine), 1st Prize at the Karamanov International Сompetition for Young Pianists 2007 in Simferopol (Ukraine) and 1st Prize of Intermediate group and EMCY Prize at the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz 2010 in Kyiv (Ukraine).

Roman has also participated in Kaunas international festival in 2005 (Lithuania) and had concert tours in Poland, Germany, Switzerland and Israel. He also has an archival recording of Bach’s Concerto in F minor for piano and orchestra on Ukrainian radio with orchestra of Ukrainian radio.

Roman was selected by EMCY and the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra to perform in the EuroRadio Youth Concert and an extra live broadcast in April 2011 in Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken, Germany.
