Sophia Fedotova was born in Moscow and started playing the violin at the age of five, in the Gnessin Special Music School under Natalia Fikhtengolz. Since the age of nine, she has been a pupil at the Central Music School of the ‘P. Tchaikovsky’ Moscow State Conservatoire, taking lessons with Tatjana Polozova.
Her first concert appearance, in 2001, was in the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. Sophia has successfully participated in several music festivals: ‘Musical autumn in Tushino’ in Moscow in 2002, ‘Music of Russia and Latin America’ in Sochi and Krasnodar (Russia) in 2008, and the Festival of Spanish music in Moscow and Saint Petersburg in 2008. She appears frequently with orchestras, having performed J. S. Bach's Concerto in A minor, Tchaikovsky's Melody and Scherzo, M. Ponce's Estrellita and P. Sarasate's Habanera.
