Trio Patetico was formed in 2010 at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo (Norway). It consists of Peder Barratt-Due (violin), Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad (viola) and Theodor Lyngstad (cello) who study chamber music with Kari Ravnan. The trio is based in Oslo and Trondheim and has given many concerts around Norway.
In November 2011 the trio was awarded 1st Prize at the national Norwegian competition Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap and was granted the prize and title “Musician of the Year”. Furthermore, it has been invited to play at the German regional competition of 'Jugend Musiziert' at the German School in Helsinki (Finland) and to participate in the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival at the renowned Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy (TICA), both in 2012.
