Trond was born in Gausdal (Norway) and started playing the trumpet at the age of three. One year later he began attending music classes at the local music school in Gausdal. Since 2008 he has been part of the 'Young Talents' Programme at The Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo studying with Arnulf Naur Nilsen.

Trond has participated successfully in masterclasses with Rod Franks, Jonas Haltia and Jesper Busk Sørensen and at the Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap (Norwegian Music Competition for Youth) winning 1st Prize in 2009 and 2011 as a soloist and in 2010 with the BDM Trumpet Quintet.

In Summer 2011 Trond was a member of the Peer Gynt Chamber Orchestra in the staging of Peer Gynt. Furthermore, he is part of the Barratt Due Symphony Orchestra as well as the Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra and plays casually in the Lillehammer Symphonic Orchestra.

As a soloist Trond has given many concerts accompanied by orchestras and ensembles such as the Oslo Camerata, the Norwegian Armed Forces' Band North and Alexander Rybak in a concert for the Children's Burn Care Foundation, the Barratt Due Young Symphonic Orchestra on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the University in Oslo and the Nordic Brass Ensemble. In 2012 Trond has been invited to perform as a soloist with the Norwegian National Youth Orchestra, the Koninklijke Harmonie Sainte Cécile Eijsden (Netherlands, World Music Champion 2009 in Kerkrade) and to participate in the Northern Lights Festival in Tromsø (Norway).
