Veronika Kopjova was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. She started her piano studies at the J.Naujalis Gymnasium of Music in Kaunas with the teacher Sonata Pakutkiene. In 2009 she graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater and received a 'Master degree diploma in Piano and Pedagogy' in the piano class of Prof. Zbignevas Ibelhauptas. In 2007/2008 she was an Erasmus student at the University of Music and Drama Hannover with Prof. Beatrice Berthold and entered the school as a full time student in 2008. Currently she is a student of the 'Solo Performance Class' (postgraduate programme) at the University of Music and Drama Hannover.
Veronika is a laureate and has won diplomas at several international and national competitions: she has received Diplomas at the International Piano and Chamber Music Competition 'Music without Borders' (Druskininkai, Lithuania 2000), at the International Competition for Young Pianists (Rome, Italy, 2002), was awarded 3rd Prize at the Competition in Performing Chamber Music by Lithuanian Composers (Lithuania, 2004), at the International S.Vainiunas Piano and Chamber Music Competition (Vilnius, 2006), won 3rd Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of pieces by S.Vainiunas, took part in International M. K. Ciurlionis Piano and Organ Competition (Vilnius, 2007). In 2008 Veronika won 1st Prize in the Competition in Vilnius, organized by the International Yamaha Fund. In 2009 she was awarded 3rd Prize and a Special Prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music in the International Competition, 'Premio Piano Frenchilla – Zulloaga 2009' (Valladolid, Spain), and in June 2010 she won 1st Prize and Special Prize of Choriner Musiksommer Festival. In the 1st C. Bechstein Competition,for piano students from the University of Music and Drama Hannover. Veronika also was awarded 3rd Prize in the International Piano Competition (San Sebastián) in March 2011.
Veronika regularly gives concerts as a soloist and as a chamber musician in concert halls around Europe, including Austria, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom. She has given recitals in festivals such as the 'Klassik in Spandau' (Germany), 'Piano Music Summer in Druskininkai', 'Interpretations of Young Generation', 'Christopher Summer Festival Vilnius' ('Christopher’s Claviers') and 'Rokiškis’s Classical Music Festival' (Lithuania). In 2008 she gave a recital at the Kaunas State Philharmony and was selected to give a concert at Graz Musikverein in Austria. Veronika has performed concerto with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall (under the baton of Modestas Pitrenas and Dainius Pavilionis) and with the Symphony Orchestra Castilla y León (conducted by Alejandro Posada).
Veronika Kopjova is also an active chamber musician. In 2008 she performed a concert in the Great Hall of the 'Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover', which was broadcast live on German radio 'NDR Kultur', and gave a recital in the International Chamber Music Festival ‚FORTEpiano – Torun 775' in Poland. She also has performed in Chamber Music Festival 'Mozart! 2010' at the University of Music and Drama Hannover. She also took part in master classes of chamber music with renowned cellists Alexander Rudin, Jean-Guihen Queyras.
Veronika attended the International Meeting of Young Pianists 'Reino de León' in León (Spain), where she has studied with the famous professors Joaquín Soriano, Sergio Perticaroli und Jacques Rouvier. In 2010 she was an active participant in master classes of the world-renowned pianist, Elisabeth Leonskaja at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany. She has participated in numerous master classes with different Professors such as Andrea Bonatta, Pierre Réach, Peter Eicher, Oliver Kern, Ragna Schirmer, Ewa Kupiec, Lev Natochenny, Igor Lazko, Jan Jiracek von Arnim, Muza Rubackyte, Petras Geniušas, Giedre Lukšaite–Mrazkova, Nina Seriogina, Vera Nosina, Tigran Alichanov, Michail Sajamov, Arkadij Sevidov, Lambis Vassiliadis, Einar Henning Smebye and Elena Orobio.
Veronika has been awarded scholarships from the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture, International Yamaha Foundation, Juozas Karosas Charity and Support Foundation and the Yehudi Menuhin LiveMusicNow - Hannover.
