Sun Yutong studies at the Music School of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.

He won a diploma at the Moscow International Frederic Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in 2008, 2nd Prize at the International Competition for Young Pianists 'A Step Towards Mastery' in 2009 and the 2nd Prize and Marian Rybicki's special prize at the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in 2010.
