In addition to its General Assemblies, EMCY holds regular conferences for its international and national members and on specific topics.

|This year's Conference for International Competitions took place from November 20 to 22, 2015 in Weimar (Germany). Bringing together representatives of 17 youth music competitions from 14 different European countries, it created sustainable cooperation, thus enhancing the quality of support systems for young musicians. Pressing topics such as audience development and sponsorship were addressed.
The conference took place in the framework of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership project 'INTER-NATIONAL net_works+'.

|A Conference for National Member Competitions took place in Bratislava (Slovakia) from 8th to 10th November 2013. Along with several representatives from EMCY member competitions and the EMCY Board Members, a representative from the European Music School Union (EMU) participated in the meeting. The main topics were the EMCY Quality Standards, cooperation with other networks as well as non-classical categories in youth music competitions. The conference was held during the International Festival of Contemporary Music (ISCM).|
|From 12th - 14th October 2012 EMCY held a meeting dedicated to non-classical categories in youth music competitions alongside the Austrian Podium.Jazz.Pop.Rock… national competition which took place as part of the Music Austria Trade Fair. Participants from over ten different countries worked together and decided to create a working group on non-classical competitions. The main tasks of this working group will be adjusting the EMCY Quality Standards for non-classical competitions and helping them to join the EMCY network.
|EMCY held a highly successful Conference for International Youth Music Competitions 8th – 11th June 2011 in St Petersburg, together with the International Competition for Young Pianists 'A Step Towards Mastery'. This brought together participants from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland and Ukraine. In the closing session delegates agreed upon a declaration of conclusions.
|Together with Jeunesses Musicales Spain, EMCY held a conference for national competitions in Barcelona in June 2009. Representatives from EMCY Member Competitions in nine countries came together to exchange ideas and experiences and to learn about recent developments all over Europe. All delegates had the opportunity to present their competition and various exemplary projects were demonstrated and discussed in workshops.|
